Leona Alma Spivey

BRONTE -- Leona Alma Spivey, 83, died Friday in a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Fairview Cemetery, directed by Shaffer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Spivey was born in Maverick and was a homemaker. She lived in Cottonwood for many years until returning to Bronte in 1976. She was a Methodist and was the widow of Slim Spivey, whom she married in 1936 in San Angelo.

Survivors include one son, Larry Spivey of Blackwell; five brothers, R.W. Bowman of San Angelo, Virgil Bowman and Ben Bowman, both of Ballinger, Melvin Bowman of Hearne and W.C. Bowman; two sisters, Alta Lawdermilk of Ballinger and Dorene Edborg of San Angelo; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
