| Richard "Hungry" Spencer
CROSS PLAINS - Richard W. "Hungry" Spencer, 84, died
Monday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel
with Dr. Richard Chaffin officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood
Cemetery.
Mr. Spencer was born in Brown County and worked for Shell Pipe Line
for 35 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Beulah
Irene (Clifton) Spencer in 1934; she preceded him in death. He married
Clara Nell McDermett in 1974.
Survivors include his wife, of Cross Plains; two sons, R.W. Spencer
II of Odessa and David Spencer of Paducah, Ky.; one daughter, Glenda
Weaver of Abilene; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
